Middle distillates (MPD)

Middle distillates refer to a number of refined products, including jet fuel,  kerosene for heating, gas and diesel.

Jet Fuel and AvGas

aviation fuel is used to power private, commercial and military aircraft engines. The offer includes, among others: aviation gasoline (AvGas) – unleaded (AvGas Unleaded), low-lead, medium-lead, high-lead (AvGas Leaded) and aviation naphtha Jet A-1, Jet A and Jet B.

Diesel

Diesel fuel is mainly used in transport. It is designed for diesel engines.

ULSD (Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel) – Diesel fuel with very low sulphur content. ULSD is a cleaner burning diesel fuel contains 97% less sulphur than traditional diesel. Almost all crude oil-based diesel fuels in Europe and North America has been ULSD fuel since 2006.

LSD – traditional diesel fuel containing sulphur.

Heating Oil

Kerosene used for commercial and domestic purposes.

Light Distillates (LPD)

Petrol(UK) / Gasoline (US)

Petrol still powers most of the world’s car fleet. It is prepared to meet the specific specifications of the customer, region and required concentrations of ethanol and chemical additives.

Naphtha

Naphtha refers to a series of volatile and flammable liquids produced by the distillation of crude oil. These liquids, slightly different in chemical structure and boiling point, have various applications in the refining process – mainly as a raw material for the production of petrol and olefins by the petrochemical industry.

LPG

Propane-butane gas, stored as a liquid under pressure. Used as fuel, industrial fuel and transmitter gas.

Heavy Distillates (HPD)

Fuel Oil

Heavy fuel oil, which is a residue from the distillation of crude oil in the refining process, refers to the series of the least volatile and heaviest of the commercially used fuels.

About 10% of the fuel oil produced is used to power large ships.  Another 15% is used in large industrial plants, and the remainder is used by refineries as raw material for further refining.

Biofuels

Biodiesel

Biodiesel is a form of diesel fuel obtained from plants or animals, consisting of long-chain fatty acid esters. Biodiesel is a renewable, clean-burning diesel replacement that can be used in existing diesel engines without modification.

Ethanol

Ethanol is produced in the petrochemical production process or by fermentation of agricultural products such as corn, sugar cane and other crops. Ethanol has many industrial applications, but is most often used as an engine fuel component that is added to petrol.
